My expertise allows me to repair period stained glass pieces which require a more comprehensive knowledge of the historical production processes. I have worked on medieval churches and listed buildings across East Anglia and beyond. I do my utmost to respect the creative vision of the original stained glass artist and bring their work back to vibrancy.
The rebuild process involves several steps: first, removing the old lead from the panel; next, washing and cleaning the original glass; then, replacing any broken glass with the closest available match; after that, reconstructing the panel from scratch using new lead that matches the original width and profile; finally, soldering the joints on both sides to complete the panel.
